First Doctor Appointment

We went to visit our doctor, Dr. Weiss, today. Kacie's weight was 8lbs, 2oz. We are working to fatten her up so she can get back to her birth weight. She didn't really fuss until the end when she got hungry. We really like our doctor and it was a good experience.

We came home today! Grandma & Grandpa came to visit again and Grandma even came home with us for a few hours. We are excited and a little nervous to start this journey of parenthood!

Kacie Lynn Wichert is here!!!

The nurses gave me another pill to help start contractions and a sleeping pill around 2:00 am. I was able to sleep until about 4. The contractions had started and I just could not go back to sleep. I think I dozed off and on until about 7 when my doctor came in to see how things were going. The contractions were really starting to hurt so they went ahead and gave me the epidural after checking me out. She said Kacie would probably be here sometime around noon. Since I could finally relax, I was able to go back to sleep until about 8:30 when they checked me again. Well surprise! They said, "Forget noon, you're ready NOW!" So things got started. My doctor was in surgery somewhere else in the hospital, so the nurses tried to put it off until she could get back to my room. I started actually pushing about 9:30 and Kacie was born at 10:02 am!!! I am so glad I didn't have a long labor. I pretty much didn't feel anything, so it was an "easy" delivery. She weighs 8 pounds, 7 ounces, and is 20 1/2 inches long. Here are pictures of my new little angel! She is perfect!!!!
