All of April in One Post

After a super busy February and March, our April was pretty quiet. Here are some of the few pictures I took during this month. (I usually have about 150+ for each month, and I only had 49 for April!)
Eating breakfast at Grandma's house
 Drawing on her new easel
 Playground fun!
Raking with Daddy (notice the long sleeves and pants-it was unusually cold all through April)
My friend Mandy and her son Jake were in town to visit! Mandy and I grew up together in Louisiana. When I moved to Texas in 4th grade, we still kept in touch through letters. When we were in 8th grade, Mandy moved to Garland (where her mom was originally from) and showed up at my middle school one day. She remained on of my best friends through high school and after. Our brothers were good friends, and so are our moms. It was fun to get to play. Kacie kept getting confused about the name Jake since we have another friend Jake. I just kept telling her, "It's a different Jake." Jake is 4 months older than Kacie. I secretly told Mandy I was pregnant at her baby shower before I had announced it publicly. It was a fun visit!!
Kacie opening her birthday present from Grandma Bobbie
 Ready for church
 More cuteness
Funny sleeping pose JUST like her Mommy-on her back with her knee crossed
Eating dinner in my classroom before "Jam the Gym" night. One of my co-worker's daughter watched her while I had to work at my station.
 More cute outfits
Pigtails! We went to a party for all the Children's Ministry volunteers. There wasn't much for Kacie to do, so we just walked around for a little bit and ate a hotdog and her first taste of cotton candy.
 Jason's birthday
 New Minnie outfit
 My little sunshine
 Pretty dress from Aunt Tricia
 Showing off all her bracelets
Some tidbits that I wrote down from April:
  • Kacie can jump now!
  • Kacie got to meet Aunt Jerry & Uncle Ken, but I guess I don't have any pictures.
  • She continues to make up different versions of "Brown Bear, Brown Bear."
  • She calls water "wadi." There are so many cute ways she says things that I don't want to correct her!
  • She loves to say hi to everyone at stores, restaurants, etc. When they don't answer her, she says, "That boy don't hear me."
  • She can now sing the whole ABC song by herself correctly.
  • When you call her a nickname or silly name, she immediately corrects you.
  • Example: me: "Hey Silly Willy!" K: "I not Silly Willy, I Kacie Wichert!"

I Have a 2 Year Old!

I am a few days late in posting about my little 2 year old. I actually didn't take our traditional monthly picture, so I will just reuse one of the pics from her birthday. This will be the last of the official monthly posts, but I will definitely still post all the sweet, funny, and smart things my little angel does.
This month:
  • Her favorite things change daily (color, food, etc).
  • She is just so funny!
  • It is amazing to me the stuff she remembers. She constantly tells us random stuff that she remembers. "Member I got a new kitchen for Christmas. Member I bump my head on the piano bench. Member Macey came to my birthday party. Member I ate apples with Grandma Sharon."
  • Her head healed just fine. It never bled, and there is no scar. She still says, "I put food and a Kleenex on my boo boo."
  • One day she looked at me and said, "That dress is beautiful. I love you." I wrote it down because it was so sweet!
  • She makes up songs constantly.
  • She LOVES to play in her bed. She gathers up an armload of books and dolls/animals and asks me to put her in her bed. I usually sit in the rocking chair and just watch her while she plays.
  • She also reads her books. I love to listen to her retelling some of her favorite books. A few times, she was holding the book up like a teacher would and told her babies, "Listen me when I read." It was really funny.
  • One of the books she can say almost every word to is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" We sometimes use different words to copy the rhyme. (Kacie, Kacie what do you see? I see Minnie looking at me). One night we were watching a Ranger game on tv, and she suddenly said, "Baseball, Baseball, what do you see? I see red dirt looking at me." She made that up completely on her own without Jason or me making an example first.
  • Her favorite shows are pretty much the same: Mickey Mouse, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, and Little Einsteins. We have several of each recorded for times when they are not on.
  • She loves to play her games on the ipad. She can open her "Kacie" folder and do everything by herself.
  • At her 2 year checkup, the only thing I had to say "no" to on the check list was jumping with both feet (actually jumping and not hopping/galloping). She is so close, so hopefully she'll be jumping any day now.
  • She is 33 pounds and 37 inches tall. The doctor said she's the size of a 3 year old!
  • She LOVES her babies and her animals. She thinks up more things to do with them every day!
That's all I can think of right now, but she continues to amaze and entertain us every day!!

Easter 2013

The week before Easter, Kacie had an Easter Egg hunt with her friends at Mrs. Karen's house. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of that, but this is Kacie showing me her eggs when we got home.
Then we went to visit Grandma & Papaw for a little bit. Grandma wasn't there, so Kacie played in the garden with her new tools.
On Saturday we went to church. One of my favorite things about Easter is picking out a dress for Kacie!
 Grandma Bonnie came with us.
After church, we let Kacie play in the playground for a little bit while we waited for the parking lot to clear out.
Kacie spent the night with Grandma Bonnie & Papaw that night so Jason & I could have a dinner date. Then we taught Sunday school together Sunday morning. My mom had a few Easter goodies for Kacie when she woke up.
A cute book where you put your finger in the little bunny
 and some cute clothes
After church Jason & I came over and we did an Easter egg hunt in my parents' yard.
 Happy Easter from the Wicherts!
Finding "treasure" in her eggs (raisins, marshmallows, jelly beans, and gold fish crackers)
Then we had to go hide the eggs again!
Cute little sleepy face after waking up from her nap
Cuddle time with my sweet girl
We had a fun weekend! I can't wait until Kacie is a little older and we are able to focus more on the true meaning of Easter. I read a little Easter book to her a few times, so hopefully the seeds are being planted!
