Cousin Ben

My brother's baby, Benjamin Paul Attwood, was born 6 weeks early and has been in the hospital (NICU) since February. He was finally able to come home this week! I was so excited to take Kacie over to my mom's house so she could finally meet her cousin Ben. They are moving to Tennessee next week, so we won't get to see them very often. I know they will be great friends, though, and I can't wait to see them grow up and get into all kinds of trouble together!

One Month Old

I cannot believe it has been a month since my sweet Kacie was born. As I said a few posts ago, she weighed 9 pounds, 8 ounces a few days ago at her check up. Our lives have definitely changed over the past month, but in a good way! I always knew having a newborn was hard, but you really have no idea until you live it yourself. Some days I get a little stir crazy staying at home all day, every day, but I am so thankful I could take off so much time from school to be home with her.

These are some things we have learned about our angel:
  • She doesn't cry or fuss very much, only when she is hungry or tired. I really can't complain, and I'm so glad she doesn't cry all day.
  • She is VERY impatient when she's hungry. She gets up to a bloody-murder scream in no time.
  • Her hunger cues are she starts pumping her left leg and breathing fast, as well as sucking on her fists.
  • She LOVES to sleep in the swing and on Jason's & my chests for snuggle time.
  • She is beginning to smile for real, and not just the "gassy" smiles.
  • She will turn her head to me when she hears my voice.
Here are some pictures from our one month "photo shoot" (aka in the living room with my camera!)

We love you sweet girl!!

    Happy Easter!

We celebrated Kacie's first Easter with a special visit from Grandma Sharon & Auntie Tricia, who came in from California for the week. Here is a picture of them meeting for the first time.
They flew in on Saturday, and that night we got all dressed up and took Kacie to church. I was a little nervous of how it would go, but it was no big deal! She slept for part of it and just looked around the other part. After church, the 5 of us met my parents for dinner.

Here are pictures before church of Kacie's cute Easter dress (which I bought before she was born!)
Here's when she told us she'd had ENOUGH pictures!
Here is the view during the service.
Here are some pictures by the beautifully decorated stage after the service.
The next day, we took Kacie to our Life Group Easter Party. It was the first time we'd seen most of our friends in a while since we haven't been back to church yet.

Next year at Easter, hopefully she'll be walking around picking up eggs!

    4 Weeks

We went to the doctor one more time today. Kacie weighs 9lbs, 8oz. She gained a pound in a week! Dr. Weiss is happy with this, so we don't have to come back until her 2 month check up. My little girl is growing like a weed! I cannot believe she will be 1 month old on Sunday! Here are some pictures from the week.

Katelin is in my 4-year old Sunday School class that I teach, and she & her mom came over to meet Kacie!
    Another cute outfit
Grandma & Grandpa babysat Kacie while Jason & I went to a Rangers game. It was our first time to leave her and of course everything was fine.
