California Part 6-Visiting Grandpa

On Sunday, we went to Jason's old church. After that we drove to Grandpa Derry's house to eat lunch and try to let Kacie take a nap. She dozed off in the car on the way there, and then would never go back to sleep.

 Then we went to visit Jason's grandpa, Grandpa Herb, at the home where he lives.

 We stayed for a little bit to watch a movie. This is how Kacie entertained herself.

California Part 5-Taking it Easy

When we got home from the mountains, we decided to take it easy the next day.

 On Saturday, we went to lunch with Grandpa Derry, Aunt Tricia, and Uncle Ara.

On Saturday night we had a get together with all of Jason's old friends from his church where he grew up. I had met some of them before, but I was glad to put faces with some of the names Jason talks about.

Kacie was thrilled to sit with all the "big kids" to eat her dinner.

It was a fun evening, and Jason was so glad to see all of his old friends.

California Part 4-Last day in the Mountains & LOTS of family pictures

Here are a few pictures from our last day in the cabin.  Kacie stayed in her bed the whole night on the last night!

The night before, we took a LOT of family pictures. This whole group had not been together in a very long time. Here are some of the group shots.

 Sharon has 2 siblings, and each of the 3 families took some pics together.

 Jason's Uncle Steve, Aunt Sue, cousin Kristin (Her husband Jason couldn't come. Also, Kristin's baby is due in November), Kasen (3 months), Kori, and his cousin Kevin

 The 4 boy cousins with their babies (the only 4 grandchildren in the family so far. There will be 2 more in the winter!)

The 7 cousins, spouses, and children-Jason grew up very close to his cousins on this side of the family. Although they range in ages and locations, all 7 of them grew up together.

When we left the cabin on Thursday, we went to go visit Grandma Bette, who is Sharon, Steve, and DeeAnn's step-mother. She is the only grandparent still alive on this side of the family. I had met her when Jason & I came to California when we were first engaged.  She lives in an assisted living facility, and was not able to come to the mountains. Since all of the out of town family was in California, she wanted to get everyone together.
