Visitors

Jason's mom, Sharon, came to visit us in September for a few days. We took her to eat at Babe's Chicken (yum!), went to the Texas State Fair with the McNeelys, and had fun visiting. She even spent the day with my mom one day when Jason & I were both at work. Then in October, Jason's dad came to visit also. We went out to eat, of course, and he worked with Jason a couple of days.

We hope they will be making many more trips to Texas once their sweet granddaughter is born!

Visit to Louisiana

Danielle, Jake, and I went to Haughton, Louisiana for a couple of days to visit our BFF Misty and her twins, Hannah & Hayley. Of all places, Haughton is where I was born and lived for the first 5 years of my life. Misty actually lives in the neighborhood across the street from our old house. Crazy! I love visiting Misty and the twins because I get to have my "own" baby. I was excited to tell Misty my news in person. She also had some news of her own....she's pregnant too! She is about 2 weeks behind me. I am so excited to go through this pregnancy with her, because she & Danielle did it together the first time around with Jake and the twins. Here are some pictures of my cute "nieces."

It was a short, but fun trip! This time next year, we'll have 2 more kids to add to the mix. Can't wait!

Goin' Back to Cali

Jason and I spent a week with his sister in Los Angeles for a late anniversary trip. We had so much fun! Jason's mom even came down for a few days. It was a very fun and relaxing week and a great way to unwind before I start school next week. We did lots of "touristy" things because I have never been to LA and I wanted to see everything!

We started by walking on the beach

One day we rode on a double decker bus and did a tour of the city.

We also saw the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, several famous restaurants, and passed by some tv studios.

We went to Rodeo Drive where we saw Conan walking down the street! Jason said hello and he waved. This is him walking away.

We even got to go to a Rangers/Angels baseball game. We won! It was an awesome game and we met Josh Lewin, one of the Rangers tv announcers.

Outside Tricia's apartment
One last thing we did was attend a taping of Jay Leno's tonight show!

I am now 7 weeks pregnant and I started feeling very nauseous this week. We have told our good news to Brent, Tricia, and a few close friends. We are waiting until after I go to the doctor to make our news public!

I also had a retreat with my Growth Group this past weekend. Kerri, Kristi, Julie, Angie, Jill, and I had a fun time at a hotel just having girl talk, and of course shopping!

Telling the Grandparents

We met my parents for dinner tonight and told them our good news. Of course they were surprised, but very excited. Grandma Bonnie & Grandpa Paul can't wait to meet our new addition to the family. Then after dinner Jason called his mom and dad and told them as well. Grandma Sharon & Grandpa Derry are also so excited! It's going to be a fun year.....

We're Pregnant!!

Well....it's official! I just found out today that I'm pregnant!! I took one test and I couldn't believe it. So I jumped in the car and drove to CVS to buy another test to make sure. It also had a positive result. Jason and I have been praying for this for a long time. Words cannot express how excited we are! According to my calculations, our little one will be born in March, but we don't have an official doctor's appointment until 8 weeks. Watch out world....there's a new little Wichert coming!!!
