23 Months

Where does the time go? Only one more month until my baby's 2nd birthday! Well, let's get started on this month.
She insisted on having all these babies on the chair with her
  • She calls music "minga," and it took us a while to figure that one out. She loves to sing and play her instruments.
  • When she wants to do something by herself, she says, "No, I self."
  • She is constantly saying "Look at me" or "follow me" when she wants our attention.
  • Her favorite food is chicken nuggets, and I just love the way she says it: chichin nunnets. And heaven forbid, if you just call them chicken! If I say something like, "Kacie, eat your chicken" or "Do you want some more chicken?" She says loudly, "It's not CHICHIN, it's CHICHIN NUNNETS!"
  • She recognizes letter all over the place when we are out and about. She will say, "There's a _____" (insert letter) in a very excited voice.
  • I just love how she thinks and figures stuff out. One night we were in the living room, and Jason & I were talking about something needing a new battery. (I can't remember what). Kacie wanders off and a few minutes later I find her in her room where I thought she was just playing. She was trying to take the cover off her mp3 player that we use for her "night night minga." I asked her what she was doing, and she said, "I'm getting a battery."  A few weeks ago, we put a new battery in the player at bedtime, and she remembered that. It just floored me that she remembered that we had used a battery, and she was trying to bring it to us.
  • Her current favorite TV shows are "Sofia the First," "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," and "Little Einsteins."  She also has several apps that she can do on her own on the ipad.
  • She LOVES to read. Sometimes when we can't find her for a little while, she is just sitting in her room surrounded by books. We read the same ones over and over and over....again. But I'm glad she loves reading so much.
I could go on and on! I just love this little girl so much! Here are the rest of the 23 month pictures.

Ben's Visit-Part 2

One night Brent, Cassandra, Jason, and I went out to dinner at Babe's Chicken. Mom babysat Ben & Kacie, and here's a pic of them playing together in Kacie's ball pit.
Another afternoon we went over to my parents' house to play with Ben again after school.
Taking a water break
Playing with magnets on the front door
Then they climbed up on the couch and had a good ol' time. Kacie was digging in my purse, and they were just laughing and being silly together.

Singing songs with You Tube videos
Then we had a big family dinner with my parents' neighbors, who have been like family to us since Brent & I were in high school. Their 2 daughters were there with their husbands and one of them has a little girl.
Here are Ashten & Kacie coloring together.
 Ben found some trains
 The 3 kids playing together
I didn't get any pictures of the adults, but we had fun watching Ben, Ashten, & Kacie playing together.  The next day, we got together one more time before Brent & Cassandra went home. My Uncle Jack and Aunt Brenda were in town, so we got to see them, my cousin Jordan, his wife Kathryn, and their daughter Hannah (3 months younger than Kacie). First we hung out at our house for a little bit to talk and let the kids play. My mom wanted to try to get pics with her, dad, and their 2 grandkids. They are obviously looking at a different camera in these 2 shots, and the kids didn't really smile.

Then we went to one big family dinner at Cici's. The kids played in the game room when we were done eating.
Kacie & Hannah were running around in a big circle. It was really cute!

This was the last time we saw them. Brent and Cassandra left the next morning. We are hoping to get together in Arkansas again this summer, but it will depend on everyone's work schedule.

Ben's Birthday Party

We had Ben's 2nd birthday party at our house while they were in town. All of the Attwood family drove out, and it was a really fun day. For some of the family, it was the first time to ever meet Ben. Others had only seen him when he was a baby.  Sadly, my mom woke up sick that morning and wasn't able to come.
The decorations~It was a transportation/trucks theme

 Yum!
Kacie got 2 presents as well, since her birthday is next month: a cute dress from Mark, Sandi, Chase, & Charmaine, and some large Legos from Tom, Harumi, & Marin

She FINALLY put the hat on!

 Good-bye hugs!
It was a really fun day! I was so glad to get to celebrate my sweet nephew's birthday, especially since we won't get to do that very often as long as they live in Tennessee. Happy Birthday Ben!
