Library

I found out that the Wylie library had a toddler program (ages 1-3) on Wednesday mornings, so I decided to try it out. I had NO idea what to expect, and nothing to compare it to. Oh my gosh, Kacie had a BLAST!! It was about 25 minutes, and the two teachers sang songs, read books, did a few flannel board stories, and played with puppets. Kacie was laughing, clapping, squealing, and signing "more" after each activity/song. She was so cute trying to copy the motions of the songs. It will definitely be our new Wednesday activity. I wasn't able to take any pictures during the story time, but I have some of her playing before and after.

There was a big metal fixture outside that Kacie loved running around and looking at herself in.

Family Visit

After we took Kacie's 15 month pictures, we headed to my parents' house, and then to dinner with some family that was in town.
Hanging out at the house
We went to Cheddar's to meet my Aunt Brenda & Uncle Jack, my cousin Jordan, his wife Kathryn, and their daughter Hannah, who is 3 months younger than Kacie. I couldn't wait to see the two girls together. We set their highchairs side by side to watch them interact. It was really cute. Of course they each wanted the toys that the other had, so that was definitely entertaining.

 Playing out front after dinner

A big hug from cousin Jordan
Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of anyone else. Also, Aunt Brenda took one year pictures of Kacie before we ate, so hopefully I'll get those back soon.  She is a professional photographer and did the pictures from our wedding. It was good to see them and hopefully it won't be long before we get together again.

15 months!

Well, my baby is 15 months. I cannot believe how fast the time is flying! Here's the best shot of my little princess on her 15 month "birthday."
  • She is just so funny I cannot get over it. That little girl keeps us laughing all day!
  • At the beginning of the month, she became very clingy and wanted only me for about a week. Even when I was in the house, if I walked out of the room she would start crying. Or if Jason was holding her, if I left the room, she'd hold out her hands and say, "mama". While I was glad she wanted me, it was totally unlike her. But that didn't last very long.
  • She finally has stopped crying when we take her to the church nursery! I know I say she hardly every cries, but for some reason, handing her over the counter at church still caused some tears.
  • We have gone swimming a few times, which she LOVES!
  • She's still taking two 1 1/2 hour naps on most days. If we are out and miss the morning nap, she will sleep about 2-3 hours in the afternoon.
  • She started rubbing her head/leg/arm/etc when she hits it or gets hurt. It is really cute!
  • We tried coloring a few days. I think she likes it, but she's not interested for very long.
  • I know I always say this, but her language acquisition is just amazing me. I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I just love hearing her "talk" and seeing what she actually understands. When she does the "more" sign, I'll say, "more what?" and she usually points to what she wants. She is very opinionated and says uh-huh or no-no when she wants/doesn't want something.
  • She is definitely becoming a little bit feisty/sassy whatever you want to call it. She says "No!" a lot more, but then immediately (usually) does what we say after she says no.
  • Her new favorite word is "hot." I would always say it when I was blowing on her food. She started copying me and it's really cute. Then one day I let her touch something hot (warm) to try to show her what "hot" is. Now she says it for everything! She touches anything and says, "Hot!" even if it's a cold cup, a toy, her leg.
  • She also still loves to climb, as the previous playground posts mentioned.
  • She LOVES to go outside, but it's so hot already in the morning that we have to limit our time outside.
  • She is getting rid of the "stranger danger." She used to be so funny and loud at home, but silent and cautious around other people. Now she's warming up and playing a lot faster than she used to when we're around new people.
  • She still loves her books and we read sooooo many of them multiple times per day.
  • She's getting good at following simple directions, such as "Take this ______ to daddy," or "bring me the ________".
Here are the other attempts at the 15 month photos.
Yawn!
 Yea!
 Ok I'm done
We went to the doctor for her 15 month appointment later in the week. She now weighs 26 pounds, 6 ounces, and is almost 32 inches. He said that is 90% in both areas. These are my attempts to get a picture of her before the doctor. Yeah right!
This is the only one that kind of captures her little face
 Bow out
 Knock Knock
 Belly Button
She has learned how to un-velcro her sandals, and she is fascinated by it
Finally in the car...and yes, she had to bring the pink hat!

Playdate!

Today we went to my good friend Leanne's house to play. She lives in her neighborhood, and her youngest son is a month younger than Kacie. It was really fun seeing the kids interact. Her older son is 3 and kept saying, "Baby Kacie, come on!" and wanted her to follow him around the playroom.

We even stayed for lunch

We had a fun time, and can't wait to do it again!

The Pink Hat

Kacie has a hot pink swim hat that she wears to the pool. Lately, she has been really fixated with the hat at home. For several days, she would see it laying around and want to wear it. Here are some pictures of my little fashionista. (haha!)
