First Birthday Party!

This weekend, Kacie attended her first birthday party for her "cousin" Jake, who is 2 years old. It was a fun time seeing friends and watching little ones run around.

When Kacie was younger, she used to sleep on our chest/shoulder ALL the time and we LOVED it. The past month or so, now that she's a "big girl,"  she is so busy squirming and looking around that she won't be still when we try to hold her like this anymore. Jason was so happy that she fell asleep like this and he enjoyed the cuddle time!

Later that night, Jason & I went to a Ranger game, so Kacie got to stay with Grandma & Grandpa. She had lots of fun and was a very good girl!

3 Months Old!

My little girl has been here for 3 months already!! The time has flown by! I don't realize how big she is until I look back at the pictures of her in the first few weeks. I tried to do our 3 month "photo shoot" that we do each month, but now that I have such a little wiggle worm it was much more difficult. She kept trying to sit up more, and that would lead to leaning/falling over. Then when I would try to get a smile, she would stop and stare at the camera. Here are some of the humorous attempts at a "good" picture.

Here are some facts about our sweet Kacie this month: 

• She is still not napping, but I'm going to "crack down" and get serious about it next week. 
• She smiles ALL the time (unless we're trying to take a picture of course).
• She has started having a little bit of "fussy time" around 6-7 each night. I think she's just tired from not napping during the day. Other than that, she hardly ever cries.
• Her bedtime is anywhere from 8:30-9:30, and she sleeps through the night most nights. She usually wakes up any time from 6-8 a.m.
• She does great when we leave her with Grandma & Grandpa.
• I don't know her measurements since we don't have a 3 month check up.
• She has started to discover her hands and fingers. We have caught her several times just staring at her hand very intensely.
• She still loves sticking out her tongue and eating/licking anything that gets close to it.
• She is still being swaddled at night to control those arms. The few times she has woken up in the middle of the night, every time she had gotten one or both of her hands out and was not able to put herself back to sleep.
• She holds her head up so well, and it is so much easier to pick her up and hand her back and forth between Jason and me.
• She is still working on rolling over. She can get to her side by herself, but doesn't quite have enough "power" to go all the way over. If I put her on her side, then she can roll to her tummy. She just has to put it all together!
• She is such a little wiggle worm and doesn't like to be in one place for long! 
• She is also getting good at grabbing things. When we lay her on her play mat, she grabs and hold onto the toys that hang down. When we pick her up, she always grabs our shirts (or my hair!)

Happy 3 months Kacie Lynn! We love you so much! We are so amazed at how much you grow and learn each day. I love watching you stare at your surroundings as your little brain is taking everything in. Can't wait to see what God has in store for us in the next few months!!

13 Weeks

Well, my little pumpkin is almost 3 months old! We didn't have a very busy week this week, so we had alot of fun playing at the house. Our one outing was to lunch with Grandma and our friends Nery, Eddie, and their daughter Elle. As always, Kacie did a great job at the restaurant without fussing. Nery had this cute onsie made for the shower she threw for me at her house back in February!

And last but not least....Kacie in her "straight jacket." We still have to swaddle her at night, because she waves her arms too much and wakes herself up. First thing in the morning, when we go get her, she gives us the BIGGEST smiles. I tried to capture one of those smiles one morning, but she stopped smiling and just stared at the camera.

Father's Day

We got to celebrate Jason's first Father's Day! I woke up early with Kacie and got her dressed in her "I love my daddy" outfit. Then I tried so hard to get a good smiling picture with her in it. Well, her new thing is to stop smiling and stare at the camera. Also, she kept trying to sit up when I was propping her up in the recliner. These are all my attempts...

We went to lunch at this little place in Wylie, "La Flor," where we also went for Jason's birthday on our first outing with Kacie. She was PERFECT! Not one fuss. 

My parents came over later for a few hours, and Jason & I went to Yogurtland for dessert. We didn't get any pictures with them, though.  Later that night, Kacie just relaxed and watched a movie with us.
