Catching up-November

Well, as usual, I'm a bit behind. I'm going to let Kacie narrate some random happenings from the rest of November.

Here I am reaching over to grab the bag of puffs. Nothing is safe from me anymore!
 Success!
Now that I can move around so much, this is where I play when mommy has to go to the bathroom.
It's not so bad, as long as I have books and toys!
 ...or Mommy's necklace
This is me trying to figure out what these things are on my feet. Daddy said they were my new boots when he put them on me, but I'm still not so sure.
Relaxing with a nice beverage after a long day (water, of course!)
Here I am snuggling on Mommy & Daddy's bed and being extra cute
Here I am out to eat and drinking my bottle all by myself like a big girl.
Mommy thought the laundry basket would be a good barrier. All I see is lots of fun!
Who's that cutie patootie! Oh, it's me!
Tired of sitting up. It's hard being cute!
Another outing at a restaurant with Mommy & Daddy.
And finally, this is me sleeping HARD. If you look closely, you can see a pool of drool around my mouth. I was starting to get a runny nose, so I was being a "mouth breather."
That finishes up November!

Thanksgiving-Part 2

On Saturday Brent, Cassandra, and Ben arrived for Thanksgiving! I hadn't seen them since the babies were born. I was excited to see my little nephew, and see Kacie and Ben together. Ben is 5 weeks older than Kacie, and they had only been together once back in April.

This is when they first arrived and Ben was a little shy.
 The whole family
 Cousins checking each other out

 Look at that sweet face!
 Ben & Auntie Seana
 The proud papas
 Jason sacked out after lunch
 More play time
Ben was sticking out his tongue and Kacie kept touching it. They were both giggling. It was so cute!
 Uh-oh!
This was another funny moment. Kacie was eating an apple in her mesh feeder and Ben crawled over and took it from her. They then passed it back and forth several times. Very entertaining!
 Kacie got it back...
 Now Ben has it again...
We had all these visions of great family pictures with all of us, but it is really hard to get 2 babies to look and smile at the same time. Also, it was nap time for Kacie, so she was getting really grumpy. None of the pictures turned out great, but they are still good memories.
Proud Grandma with both of her babies
 Both Grandparents
My brother & me with our kids
 The Wicherts
This was the best we could get after SEVERAL attempts
By this time, Kacie had had ENOUGH!
Everyone had such a great time. This may become our new Thanksgiving tradition. I wish we could have spent more than a few hours together, but I am thankful it all worked out.

One last thing I wanted to do in Arkansas was take family pictures for our Christmas card. I thought the scenery outside would be really pretty. Here are the girls before we went outside. ( I need to add it was COOOOLD!)
 Playing with Daddy
 This turned out great!!!
She was really going to town on my necklace.
 Kacie loves her Grandparents!
 My sweet girl
Three Generations....of course Kacie had to do her signature face!
I thought it would be cute to get some of her sitting in the leaves.
You had to know this would happen....
Grabbing for the toy we were using to get her to smile
After the pictures, we loaded up and headed home. This time Kacie took 2 naps on the way home. This one I thought was cute because she's holding her toy while she sleeps.
And that about sums up Kacie's first Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving-Part 1

My family has a lake house in Hot Spring, Arkansas. My parents built it when I was a baby. My brother, his wife, and their son now live near Memphis, Tennessee. Hot Springs is almost exactly in the middle of here and TN (about 4 hours for all of us), so my parents decided we would do Thanksgiving at the lake house so we could all be together. Because of Brent's work schedule, we weren't doing actual Thanksgiving dinner until Saturday. Jason, Kacie, and I loaded up and drove to Hot Springs on Thursday (Thanksgiving day). I didn't know how Kacie's first road trip would go, and I was so stressed out about packing, but it all turned out just fine.

We left about 10 am, right at nap time. Well, that little stinker never did fall asleep, so we finally stopped for lunch at Whataburger.
After lunch, she fell asleep immediately, and slept the rest of the way. This is a picture of a happy Grandma when we finally arrived.
We had a fun evening playing with Kacie and relaxing with my parents. Kacie had a lot of trouble falling asleep the first night, and woke up multiple times during the night. Here she is snuggling with daddy in the morning.
Here we are outside on the deck that overlooks the lake.
Shopping trip to finish up last minute Thanksgiving details
Some squirrels had chewed a hole in the roof of the house and were getting inside, so dad and Jason had fun "squirrel hunting."
Where Kacie ate during the weekend
She LOVED the wood floors in the kitchen. After she discovered them the first night, she was always heading over there. She would grin and giggle as she scooted and slid across the floor.
Taking a bath in the sink....the same place I took baths 33 years ago!
 All snuggled up
We had a few relaxing days of playing, shopping, watching tv, playing cards, and enjoying family.
